Privacy notice
What we collect
When you create a report, we process the recipient's name or nickname, the Christmas story details you submit, and an optional photo. We may also process a purchaser email address provided through checkout, a purchase/order identifier, and technical logs needed for fraud prevention and service reliability.
Share links
If you create a share link, we store a random link code, a one-way hash of your network address, and a random identifier saved in your browser, so we can tell when someone other than you opens it. When someone opens a share link we store a one-way hash of their network address. We use this only to unlock and prevent abuse of the share discount.
How we use it
We use this data to produce fictional holiday entertainment, deliver purchased videos, handle customer support, prevent misuse, and operate the site. We do not sell uploaded photographs or use them for advertising profiles.
Services involved
We use these providers to run the service. Some of them process data in the United States.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, keeps order records and forwards email sent to our support address.
- Google Cloud stores uploaded photos and finished videos, and runs video production.
- OpenAI checks story text for misuse and writes the script.
- Higgsfield generates the video clips from the script and, if you add one, the photo.
- Stripe processes card payments. We never receive full card numbers.
- Amazon Web Services sends our order emails.
- Google Analytics counts visits and how people use the site, using cookies. It receives page addresses without order or share links, plus your browser type and rough location. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or Google's opt-out add-on.
Retention and deletion
Uploaded photos and finished videos are deleted 7 days after the video is delivered, or sooner if you delete them from your order page. A photo on an order that was never paid is deleted after 1 day. Purchase records are kept longer for tax, chargeback and accounting purposes. Share links are unlisted but not password protected: anyone who has a link can watch the video until it is deleted.
